Walk -- and kayak -- on the wild side on a family tour of the Galápagos Islands
- Share via
See giant tortoises, blue-footed boobies, rare penguins and other wildlife found only on the Galápagos Islands on a weeklong tour from Classic Journeys.
Most travelers get acquainted with the islands by boat, but this family tour is a land-based adventure, offering the opportunity to stay in island hotels and explore by foot and kayak.
Besides seeing wildlife, visitors meet the people of the Galápagos. Spend two nights each on San Cristóbal, Isabela and Santa Cruz islands; naturalist-guides lead forays that include a walk to the rim of the world’s second-largest volcanic caldera and to a family-owned coffee plantation.
Dates: Dec. 27 to Jan. 2
Price: Starting at $4,695 per person, including accommodations for six nights, guide, admissions, gratuities, support vehicle, gear for snorkeling and kayaking. Internal air is an additional $745 per person; airfare from LAX is not included.
