Clippers, Knicks call off trade talks

A proposed deal between the Clippers and New York Knicks appears to be going nowhere, according to NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
After much haggling, the Clippers and Knicks talked later Wednesday about sending the Clippers’ point guard Darren Collison and forward Matt Barnes to New York in exchange for Knicks’ shooting guard Iman Shumpert and point guard Raymond Felton.
But as the day wore on, an NBA executive said that “deal is dead.”
But with the NBA trade deadline not until noon Pacific time on Thursday, the executive said the deal “could be revived tomorrow.”
The Clippers have been reluctant to trade rookie Reggie Bullock to the Knicks and the Clippers weren’t high on acquiring Felton.
But the Clippers were willing to add Barnes to the possible deal.
However, both sides backed away from the deal -- for now.
