Clippers ready for second half of NBA season

The All-Star break is over, and now the Clippers will get back to work for the second half of the season -- starting with practice Monday afternoon.
The Clippers have 27 regular-season games left, beginning Tuesday night with a game against the San Antonio Spurs at Staples Center.
At 37-18, the Clippers lead the Pacific Division, five games ahead of both the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors.
But the Clippers have the fourth-best record in the Western Conference, their .673 winning percentage right behind the Houston Rockets (36-17), who have a .679 winning percentage.
The Clippers are six games behind conference-leading Oklahoma City (43-12) and two games behind second-place San Antonio (38-15).
With the trade deadline Thursday, the Clippers will do their due diligence and see if they can make a move to improve their team.
“We know our system,” Jamal Crawford said. “We know exactly what we’re supposed to do. It’s about consistently doing it, consistently trusting if you go and cover for somebody, somebody is going to cover for you.
“We’ve done that and I think we’re getting better at it. But I think there is still a level we can go. Hopefully, as the playoffs approach, we get there.”
