It appears the New York Yankees have found their replacement for Robinson Cano: Second baseman Brian Roberts, who has played his entire 13-year major league career with the Baltimore Orioles, has agreed to a one-year, $2-million deal to play in the Bronx.
Roberts hit .249 with eight homers and 39 RBIs last season in the final year of a four-year, $40-million deal.
Roberts, 36, has struggled with injuries since 2009, when he batted .283 with 16 homers, 79 RBIs and a major-league-leading 56 doubles. He has appeared in only 192 games over the last four seasons.
