Tour Championship, FedEx Cup winner Henrik Stenson isn’t finished yet

A very good year could get even better for Henrik Stenson.
The Swedish golfer walked away with $11.44 million after winning the Tour Championship -- and clinching the FedEx Cup title -- in Atlanta on Sunday, saying the victory is “going to take a little time to sink in.”
It better not take too long, because in a few weeks Stenson will enter the home stretch of the European Tour, where he leads the standings in the Race to Dubai.
As Europe’s version of the FedEx Cup, the race will culminate with four playoff tournaments offering more than $30 million in purses.
“Yeah, I’m in a great position for winning the money title in Europe,” Stenson said. “Again, it’s going to take some good play.”
The 37-year-old has been on a roll since mid-summer with a string of top 10 finishes in big events. In addition to the Tour Championship, he won the Deutsche Bank Championship during the FedEx Cup playoffs.
This hot stretch has elevated him to No. 4 in the world rankings.
“No one’s won the FedEx and the Race to Dubai,” he said. “Of course, we’re going to give that our next shot.”
