Buena Park vs. JSerra among top high school football games

Friday’s top prep football games:

Buena Park (3-0) vs. San Juan Capistrano JSerra (2-0) at Saddleback College, 7 p.m.: JSerra is hoping for a breakthrough season in the Trinity League, but this nonleague test won’t be easy. Buena Park is led by running back Deven Boston, who has rushed for 885 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. JSerra, behind quarterback Nick Robinson and running back Casey Eugenio, finally looks as if it has the depth to be a Pac-5 Division playoff contender. The pick: JSerra.

Corona Centennial (2-1) at Mission Hills Alemany (3-0), 7 p.m. (Fox Sports West Prep Zone): Centennial is coming off a rare defeat and being held under 300 total yards by Long Beach Poly. The Huskies will try to turn loose running back Tre Watson against an Alemany defense that hasn’t stopped the run effectively in recent years. Alemany quarterback Alif Grayes continues to improve in his first year as a starter. There could be lots of points scored. The pick: Centennial.
