Lane Kiffin has been fired as football coach, USC announced in a four-paragraph news release on its website early Sunday morning. The Trojans, who opened last season ranked No. 1 in the nation, have lost seven of their last 11 games, including a 62-41 decision to Arizona State on Saturday in Tempe, Ariz.
