Bakersfield leads Loomis Del Oro 21-14 after an exciting first quarter in tonight’s CIF state Division I championship bowl game at StubHub Center in Carson.
Asauni Rufus has thrown for a touchdown and gave the Drillers a 21-14 lead on a six-yard keeper with 52 seconds left. Jeremiah Reddick ended Bakersfield’s first drive with a three-yard touchdown run.
Dylan Kainrath has rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns for Del Oro.
Bakersfield has a 166-155 edge in total yards but so far neither team has been able to stop the other.
