The state champion in the 100 meters, Khalfani Muhammad, has graduated from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and moved on to California, but there’s plenty of speed left in the Mission League this spring.
It starts with T.J. Brock, who had the fastest 100 meters time by a freshman last season. He transferred from Crespi to Chaminade and will become eligible next month just in time to compete in the Arcadia Invitational.
Alemany’s Dominic Davis ran 10.83 last week .
Loyola has the fastest 400-meter relay time in the state and is led by Mekai Sheffie and Nico Evans. Notre Dame has the second fastest 400 time and still hasn’t used sophomore Leo Lambert III, who’s getting into shape after being sidelined from jaw surgery.
Notre Dame has a rising sophomore in Trevor Reid, who ran a 10.99 100 and has run 22.10 in the 200.
The Redondo Invitational is on Saturday. Loyola and Notre Dame are scheduled to compete, joined by Long Beach Poly and Dorsey.
