Pitcher Tommy Wilson invents new game: golf-baseball [Video]

Sometimes the best ideas come from teenagers when they are bored.
Standout senior pitcher Tommy Wilson of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame had some free time, so he decided to pull out a pitching wedge from his car trunk and create a new way to take batting practice.
He starting hitting a baseball with his wedge a few feet away from home plate down the third-base line, and teammate Justin Goossen-Brown then slammed the baseball over the fence in a Vine video that’s headed for big-time status.
He said it took five to 10 practice attempts to get his new game of golf-baseball to work.
As for whether a patent application is coming, Wilson said, “Maybe.”
Wilson doesn’t play for Notre Dame’s golf team, but he sure knows how to hit a baseball well with a pitching wedge.
