Girls’ basketball: Cynthia Diaz scores 34 points for L.A. Marshall

The City Section Division III girls’ basketball playoffs began on Thursday, and Cynthia Diaz of L.A. Marshall came through with a 34-point performance in an 88-55 win over Hollywood.
In Division I, El Camino Real defeated Banning, 41-15. Lindsey Rodriguez scored 13 points. Palisades defeated Taft, 47-33.
Other scores: Westchester 73, Sotomayor 37; University 89, Bravo 13; Roosevelt 43, North Hollywood 36.
