Football: Rudy Murillo is running wild for Sotomayor

The Northern League could have a new star running back to deal with. His name is Rudy Murillo, a 5-foot-8, 175-pound senior transfer from South Pasadena now playing for the first-year program at Sotomayor High.
He rushed for 325 yards and four touchdowns in a 54-28 victory over Monroe and gained 311 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 39-26 victory over Glendale Hoover.
He could be approaching 1,000 yards by the conclusion of his third game this season against Marquez.
“He’s been a beast,” Coach Danny Castro said. “I’m on cloud nine with this kid. He turns on the afterburners after he gets past the first line of defense.”
