Football: Moorpark rallies to improve to 2-0

After falling behind by 17 points, Moorpark scored just before halftime and rallied in the second half to defeat Palos Verdes, 24-20, on Friday to improve to 2-0.
Sophomore Zane Pope continued to show that he’s one of the best young players in Ventura County. He had a long kickoff return, caught a touchdown pass and had a 37-yard reception to set up another touchdown.
Jose Miguel came up with a key interception with just over a minute left.
“We’re excited,” Coach Tim Lins said.
Palisades received two touchdown passes from PJ Hurst and 141 yards rushing from Desmond Box in a 40-12 win over Marshall.
Arleta improves to 2-0 with a 42-21 over El Camino Real.
