Football: Loyola wins on historic night for campus
First home game in 65 years results in 42-35 victory

For the first home football game in 65 years, Loyola gave its fans some entertainment in holding on for a 42-35 win over San Diego St. Augustine to improve to 3-0.
David Cooper rushed for 100 yards and scored two touchdowns.
The Cubs survived a tremendous performance from junior running back Elijah Preston, who rushed for 295 yards and scored five touchdowns, four on runs for St. Augustine.
Quarterback Tre Polamalu completed 10 of 15 passes for 180 yards for Loyola and also scored on a run. Drake Beasley rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown. Daniel Tolbert rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown.
