Football: Long Beach Poly is facing possible forfeits
- Share via
Long Beach Poly, 7-2 overall and 5-0 in the Moore League with one game to play, may have to forfeit up to three league games because of an ineligible player.
If the information being discussed by local prep officials Wednesday night is true, Long Beach Wilson would become the Moore League champion.
The Southern Section office declined comment. Poly has not officially forfeited any games.
The Jackrabbits are still expected to make the Pac-5 playoffs, but it would complicate the seedings if they drop to second place.
Earlier this week, Lawndale was forced to forfeit games in the Ocean League because of an ineligible player.
Messages were left for Poly Athletic Director Rob Shock and Coach Antonio Pierce. They have not responded.
