Football: L.A. Roosevelt is 3-0 after 37-13 win over El Camino Real

David Arriaga ran for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass on a trick play to help L.A. Roosevelt improve to 3-0 with a 37-13 win over El Camino Real.
Taft held off Sierra Canyon, 60-52. Sierra Canyon QB Andre Nunez passed for more than 350 yards and ran for 217 yards. Taft running back Abraham Thomas had four touchdowns and 246 yards rushing.
Newbury Park running back Matthew Matlock set a school record with 335 yards rushing in a 24-20 victory over Agoura.
In the biggest upset of the night, Chino Hills knocked off No. 16-ranked Tesoro, 30-17.
Chaminade scored more than 50 points for the third consecutive game in a 56-34 victory over Valencia. Quarterback Brad Kaaya passed for 432 yards and had touchdown passes of 81, 42, 75 and 75 yards. Cory Watkins had touchdown runs of 31, 54 and one yard. Donovan Lee rushed for 166 yards and one touchdown. Valencia’s Nick Jones caught eight passes for 226 yards.
Harvard-Westlake is 3-0 after a 47-18 win over Granada Hills.
