Football: It’s test time for Corona del Mar and Crespi
- Share via
Whenever Corona del Mar or Crespi come up in a conversation this season, it’s usually someone questioning just how good either team is.
Corona del Mar (4-0) has won 30 consecutive games and is the defending CIF state Division III bowl champion. But people still seem unconvinced whether the team should be mentioned with the best in Southern California, because the Sea Kings aren’t in the Pac-5 Division.
This coming week, they finally face a quality team in Tesoro (3-1), ranked No. 1 in the West Valley Division.
Crespi is 3-0, but has played a weak nonleague schedule. There’s no more hiding for the Celts. They open Mission League play on Friday at home against Bishop Amat.
Correction: An earlier version of this blog had Tesoro being in the Pac-5 Division. Tesoro is in the West Valley Division.
