Quarterback Malik Henry just finished his sophomore season at Westlake Village Westlake, and suddenly he’s the focus of a recruiting battle between USC and UCLA. Both have made scholarship offers to the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder who passed for 2,362 yards and 21 touchdowns.
What led to the scholarship offers?
“I just think he showed he can make all the throws and is an athletic kid, and he’s going to get better,” Westlake Coach Jim Benkert said.
Next week, UCLA is the leading candidate to get a commitment from St. John Bosco junior quarterback Josh Rosen. USC already has a commitment from junior quarterback Ricky Town of St. Bonaventure.
There’s lots of competition coming at the local colleges.
