Football: Hawkins wins its first game in school history

Los Angeles Hawkins High, in its first year of football, won its first game on Saturday with a 34-24 victory over Los Angeles Jordan.
Sophomore Christian Fernandez completed 10 of 13 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns. He also had an interception on defense.
Freshman Greg Johnson rushed for 75 yards in nine carries and scored a touchdown.
Hawkins (1-3) is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school opened in 2012 and is located between Manual Arts and Fremont. Its nickname is the Hawks.
