Travis Waller, the Oregon-bound quarterback from Anaheim Servite, is a defensive coordinator’s nightmare. Just when you think your defense has stopped him, he uses his legs to turn a loss into a gain.
“He’s scary,” said Edison Coach Dave White, whose team faces Servite on Friday at Cerritos College. “You can have a decent pass rush and he can take off for 30 yards.”
Edison is 3-0, but White knows that playing Servite and Mater Dei over the next two weeks will help the Chargers figure out where they stand.
“It’s a huge test,” he said. “It’s fun. It always points out our weaknesses, and we work on them for league.”
