Is it too early to start getting excited about a seven on seven summer passing tournament?
Absolutely not. Huntington Beach Edison Coach Dave White is putting together another strong group of teams for the Edison tournament on July 12.
Confirmed are St. John Bosco and quarterback Josh Rosen; Servite and QB Travis Waller; Hart and QB Brady White; Glendora and QB Matt Fink; Upland and QB Tyler Hilinski; Santa Margarita and QB K.J. Costello; Westlake and QB Malik Henry. Other teams entered include Alemany, Los Alamitos, Valencia, Mater Dei and Corona Centennial.
As for receivers, Servite’s Equanimeous St. Brown has scholarship offers from Notre Dame, USC and Stanford. Hart’s Trent Irwin has offers from California and Indiana.
For defensive players, beware of Alemany cornerback Colin Samuel, Valencia safety Jay Jay Wilson and Mater Dei linebacker Ben Humphreys.
Here’s the confirmed 19 teams: Edison, Servite, Santa Margarita, Mater Dei, Mission Hills, JSerra, St. John Bosco, Hart, Corona Centennial, Westlake, Valencia, La Habra, Los Alamitos, Glendora, Alemany, Upland, Bishop Amat, Gardena Serra, Narbonne. One more will be added.
