Some 2,000 runners will converge at Woodward Park in Fresno on Saturday for the CIF state championships in cross country.
Phillip Rocha of Arcadia is the runner to beat in Division 1. He ran the fastest time at last week’s Southern Section finals at Mount San Antonio College.
Great Oak could win championships in boys and girls.
The CIF announced that Woodward Park will be the championship venue through 2021 after signing a new six-year agreement to host the event.
The first race is at 8:30 a.m.
