Soccer: Canoga Park wins City Section Division II championship

Goalie Mauricio Garcia of Canoga Park stopped a penalty kick and then scored the winning goal on a penalty kick to give Canoga Park the City Section Division II soccer championship on Friday over Marquez.
Garcia is the player who missed last season while undergoing treatment for leukemia.
The two schools had finished regulation and overtime tied, 1-1.
In Division II girls, Verdugo Hills defeated Bravo, 2-1. Danielle Geisinger scored the winning goal.
In the Southern Section Division 2 final, Corona defeated Royal, 1-0. In Division 3, Anaheim defeated Century, 2-0. In Division 5, Baldwin Park defeated Pasadena Marshall on penalty kicks.
In Division 4 girls, South Torrance defeated Serrano, 1-0, in overtime.
