Boys’ basketball: Loyola-ECR is featured game in Fairfax State Preview Classic

Los Angeles Loyola is set to play Woodland Hills El Camino Real in the featured game of the James Samson Fairfax State Preview Classic at 8:15 p.m. at Fairfax High on Jan. 25.
James Samson was the Fairfax scorekeeper and dedicated volunteer who died this past year. Fairfax Coach Harvey Kitani is honoring him by putting his name with the tournament.
The schedule: Maranatha vs. Rolling Hills Prep, 9:30 a.m.; Santa Monica vs. Brentwood, 11 a.m.; Price vs. Torrey Pines, 12:30 p.m.; Harvard-Westlake vs. Sierra Canyon, 2 p.m.; Bishop Montgomery vs. Compton, 3:30 p.m.; Gardena Serra vs. Fairfax, 5 p.m.; Windward vs. Chino Hills, 6:45 p.m.; Loyola vs. El Camino Real, 8:15 p.m.
