Boys’ basketball: It’s going to be the battle of the point guards
- Share via
The boys’ basketball season is going to be about comparing Southern California’s top point guards. There are so many good ones, and fans, coaches and players will debate from start to finish who’s best.
With Robert Cartwright of Flintridge Prep committing to Stanford on Wednesday, that leaves Jordan McLaughlin of Etiwanda still undecided. Also still available is Kyron Cartwright of Compton and Bryan Alberts of Village Christian. Parker Jackson-Cartwright of Loyola is committed to Arizona, Tra Holder of Brentwood is committed to Arizona State and Jeremy Lieberman of Calabasas is headed to Wyoming.
Then there’s the great junior class that includes Tyler Dorsey of St. John Bosco, Aaron Holiday of Campbell Hall, Sedrick Barefield of Corona Centennial, Kendall Small of Mayfair, Marcus Lovett Jr. of Orangewood Academy, Max Hazzard of Loyola, Justin Simon of Temecula Valley, Alex Copeland of Harvard-Westlake and Michael Oguine of Chaminade. And there’s sophomores Lonzo Ball of Chino Hills, Devearl Ramsey of Sierra Canyon, Christian Juzang of Viewpoint and Max Heidegger of Crespi.
There’s others ready to join the list, such as Santa Monica junior Nuwriyl Williams.
What a season ahead.
