Boys’ basketball: Devenir Duruisseau scores 31 points for Sylmar

It was a productive Valley Mission League opener on Monday for Sylmar and standout forward Devenir Duruisseau, who scored 31 points in the Spartans’ 85-36 victory over San Fernando.
In the North Orange County tournament, C.J. Hankins scored 19 points in Orange Lutheran’s 73-57 victory over Diamond Bar.
In the Inland Empire Classic, Rancho Cucamonga defeated Fontana, 96-38. Victor Joseph scored 16 points and had eight assists. Alta Loma defeated Lakeside, 61-33. Los Osos defeated Twentynine Palms, 67-37.
Eli Chuha had 27 points as Redlands East Valley defeated Montclair, 76-67. Joe Carrington scored 27 points for Montclair.
