Baseball: West Ranch pitcher Jake Bird commits to UCLA

West Ranch’s Jake Bird, one of the top pitchers in the Foothill League, has committed to UCLA. He has shown tremendous improvement, with his fastball reaching 90 mph. He’s also an honor student with hopes of becoming a doctor.
He had 41 strikeouts in 33 innings during fall ball.
