Baseball: Gardena Serra has top outfielders but looking for pitching
- Share via
Gardena Serra’s defending Southern Section Division 3 baseball championship team will have two of the best outfielders anywhere in Marcus Wilson and Denz’l Chapman, but lack of pitching could be a big problem.
Solomon Bates, the Cavaliers’ ace from last season, transferred to Oaks Hills, and that’s going to create a big roadblock for Serra.
Serra won’t be lacking in hitters. Wilson, who hit a home run last season at Dodger Stadium, is one of the Southland’s top pro prospecrts. Chapman is one of the fastest players. There’s also junior second baseman Morgan Lomax and sophomore shortstop Tommy Bothwell.
