Friday’s top high school football games:
Corona Centennial (11-0) vs. Orange Lutheran (6-5) at Orange Coast College, 7 p.m.
This is the third time in the last two seasons these schools have met in football. Last week, Orange Lutheran had four players rush for more than 100 yards in a first-round Southern Section Pac-5 playoff victory over Ventura St. Bonaventure. Centennial running back J.J. Taylor scored seven touchdowns in his team’s win over West Hills Chaminade. The key: Can Lutheran match Centennial touchdown for touchdown and be in position to win at the end?
The pick: Centennial.
Westlake Village Oaks Christian (11-0) at La Puente Bishop Amat (9-2), 7:30 p.m.
Everyone knows Oaks Christian has a terrific offense with quarterback Matt Corral and receiver Michael Pittman. This game hinges on whether its defense can handle Bishop Amat receivers Tyler Vaughns and Trevon Sidney, quarterback Damian Garcia and running back Torreahno Sweet. The Lancers have a 13-game home winning streak.
The pick: Bishop Amat.
