San Diego Mesa def. Orange Coast
COSTA MESA — Johannes Brink had 10 kills to lead the Pirates in the Pacific Coast Conference match Friday.
San Diego Mesa won 25-23, 27-25, 25-18.
Brendan Duff had 20 assists and Scott Enos had six digs for OCC (9-4, 5-2 in conference).
San Diego Mesa is 6-8, 4-4.
The Pirates return to action on Wednesday at Golden West, beginning at 6 p.m.
OCC’s next home match will be April 3 against San Diego City, also at 6 p.m.

Spring Break Invitational
IRVINE — UC Irvine sophomore Itos Aikhionbare finished 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 158 feet, 6 inches, during the first day of the meet Friday at UCI.
Aikhionbare’s throw ranked No. 3 in school history. Freshman Bridget Devaney placed 18th with a mark of 137-11, eighth in the Anteater record book.
Nicole Mendoza led UCI in the 5,000 meters, finishing 18th in 18:37.21.
Action continues Saturday, with field events beginning at 10 a.m. and the first track event at noon.

Spring Break Invitational
IRVINE — Redshirt freshman Allan Callison led UC Irvine on the first day of the meet Friday.
Callison finished 12th in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:35.27.
The invitational continues Saturday, with field events beginning at 10 a.m. and track at noon.
