Isabella Vigeland had two goals and an assist as the Corona del Mar High girls’ soccer team beat Foothill 5-0 in a nonleague match Tuesday at home.
Brea Sofferman, Erin Galvin and Emily Chanawatr also scored for CdM (2-2-1), while Payton Vovan had two assists.
Sydney Walls made five saves in goal for the Sea Kings, who host Woodbridge on Thursday.
Newport Harbor 1, Pacifica 0: Antonella Russo scored on a penalty kick drawn by Kenna Robar to lift the Sailors in Tuesday’s nonleague season opener on the road.
Jessica Gardner made six saves in goal, while Alyssa Sims and Stella Gaffney also stood out defensively.
Newport Harbor hosts Tesoro on Thursday in its home opener.
GIRLS’ LACROSSE
Edison 18, St. Margaret’s 14: Blakely Malpass had five goals for the Chargers in Tuesday’s upset victory at home.
Gwen Ontiveros, Ali Bryant and Melanie Wieland each scored three times for Edison. Sydney Hoggard scored twice, and Anna Beachner and Natalie Halpin added a goal.
Cailen Gorsuch made four saves for the Chargers, who held St. Margaret’s to two second-half goals after trailing 12-9 at halftime.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Corona del Mar 14, Edison 4: Sienna Brooks swept in singles for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Sunset Conference crossover match at Edison High.
The doubles teams of Tori Varela and Alden Mulroy, as well as Cate Montgomery and Lauren Jones, also swept for the Sea Kings (5-0).
Kailee You won twice in singles for Edison.
Laguna Beach 11, Los Alamitos 7: Jessica MacCallum, Sarah MacCallum and Kaitlyn Smith all swept in singles for the Breakers on Tuesday in a Sunset Conference crossover match.
Laguna Beach improved to 3-1.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Laguna Beach 12, Los Alamitos 9: William Kelly scored five goals for the Breakers in Tuesday’s Surf League match on the road.
Nicholas Hoffs added four goals for Laguna Beach (3-3, 2-3 in league), while Frank Laptin made seven saves.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
Estancia 17, Santa Ana 3: Nadine Humbert scored five goals for the Eagles in Tuesday’s Orange Coast League opener on the road.
Cassie Corrigan and Caroline Conner each scored four times for Estancia (4-1 overall), while goalkeeper Giannina Bauer made 15 saves.
