Golden West increases fees by $6 per unit
- Share via
Golden West College has joined all other California community colleges in increasing its enrollment fee for the fall semester to $26 per unit.
The previous cost was $20 per unit.
Districts are now authorized and required to charge the increased enrollment fee.
The increase came about as part of an education trailer bill signed alongside the state budget by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in late July.
State funding for community colleges was slashed by 20%.
Those who have already registered for the fall semester at the lesser amount will be charged the difference.
Those who have qualified for fee waivers will not be required to pay any fees.
