Taste of Charity proceeds donated

Fourteen local groups benefited from the Laguna Board of Realtors Taste of Charity fundraiser held recently.
About $35,000 was divided between the Laguna Beach Community Clinic, First Thursdays Art Walk, Laguna Outreach for Community Arts (LOCA), AIDS Care Teams in Our Neighborhoods (ACTION), Helping Hands for distributing food and clothing to the needy, Neighborhood Watch, Hortense Miller Garden, the Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach, Community Art Project (CAP), Laguna Relief and Resource Center, Sally’s Fund for providing transportation for the elderly shut-ins, Laguna Beach Live!, La Playa and Friends of the Laguna Beach Library.
Four previously awarded Laguna Beach High School Scholarships also shared in the proceeds.
Checks were presented at a wine and cheese reception, held recently at the board offices at 939 Glenneyre St.
Board President Wayne Woodyard made the presentations, assisted by event chairman Paul Benec and co-chair Caroline Haines.
