UC Riverside 69, UC Irvine 52RIVERSIDE — The Anteaters shot just 28% from the field and dropped the Big West Conference contest Thursday night in front of a school-record crowd of 855 at UC Riverside.

UCI junior Miranda Forry scored a team-high 15 points on seven-of-12 shooting, while junior guard Annie Mai added 13 points for UC Irvine (5-14, 2-3 in conference).

Junior Stephanie Duda had six points and 10 rebounds for the Anteaters, who turned the ball over only 11 times while forcing 22 from the Highlanders.

UC Irvine took a 5-4 lead on a jumper from Mai, but would never hold the advantage again. The Anteaters were outrebounded, 47-28.

The Highlanders also took advantage of the much smaller Anteaters, outscoring them 30 to 12 in the paint and 14 to 9 on second-chance points.
