Freshman Selanee Henderson shot 4-over-par 220 to capture medalist
honors and lead the UC Irvine women’s golf team to the tournament
title at the Nittany Lion women’s fall invitational Sunday at the
Penn State Blue Course in State College, Penn.
The Anteaters’ winning 54-hole team score of 296-298-303--897 was
second best in the event’s history.
Henderson shot a team-low 73 on the final round, after carding par
72 on the second 18 and a first-round 75. She is the third UCI player
to earn an individual title, the first since Stella Lee won the Big
West championships on April 23, 2002.
Four of five Anteaters finished in the top 10. Junior Carling Cho
was fifth (73-76-76-- 225), while junior Angela Won (73-74-79) and
freshman Jane Chin (75-76-79) tied for sixth at 226.
Freshman Kim Lorenzana had her first top-20 finish, placing 12th
with a three-round total of (75-76-80--231).
It is the Anteaters’ first tournament title of the season, the
third in school history.
