Melanie Whittington and Mark Hill were married on July 17, 2004 at

St. Edward Catholic Church in Dana Point.

A reception, dinner and dancing was held at the Clubhouse at

Pelican Hill in Newport Coast. Attending the bride was her sister and

maid of honor Chelsea Boyle; and serving as bridesmaids were Kristen

Ruiz and Colleen Meyers. The groom’s best man was his brother, Ryan

Hill; and groomsmen were Matt Ampagoomian and Mike Herdman. The

flower girl was Allison Gonzalez, the groom’s cousin and the

ring-bearer was Joe Meyers.

The bride wore a white, silk-satin, strapless, full-length gown.

The formal gown was detailed with rusching at the bodice and featured

an asymmetrical train. Complementing her gown, the bride carried a

French knotted bouquet of magenta roses with touches of peonies,

freesia, hydrangea and tulips.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Nickel of Dana

Point. She is a 1999 alumnus of Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

Melanie graduated summa cum laude from the University of San Diego

with a bachelor’s degree in 2003. She is an associate with Nation

Smith Hermes Diamond, a public accounting firm in San Diego.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Hill of Laguna Beach.

He is a 1998 graduate of Laguna Beach High School. Mark graduated cum

laude from the University of San Diego and obtained his bachelor’s

degree in 2002. He works in the international department at the

corporate headquarters of Quiksilver in Huntington Beach.

The couple honeymooned on Turtle Island in Fiji and made their

home in Carlsbad.
