TUESDAY
* Park Avenue: A woman called police at 4:14 p.m. complaining that
a high-pitched noise had been emanating from the high school every
Tuesday from the afternoon until sundown. She said she was annoyed to
the point that she was considering leaving town.
* South Coast Highway: A resident reported that an injured hawk on
the ground near Ruby’s was dying at 10:16 a.m.
MONDAY
* Dartmoor Street: A resident reported that someone was going
through garbage cans and setting off car alarms in the 300 block at
11:28 p.m. They turned out to be raccoons.
* Skyline Drive: A resident reported that a male solicitor started
yelling at him when he refused to buy anything in the 1000 block at
6:50 p.m. He said he could hear the solicitor yelling at neighbors
while he talked to police.
* Main Beach: Police arrested a 40-year-old man with a gray beard
on suspicion of being drunk in public after he was reportedly
screaming for five minutes straight at 3:24 p.m.
* Broadway and North Coast Highway: A non-injury traffic accident
was reportedly caused a small oil spill at 8:15 a.m.
* Cleo Street: Police cited a 55-year-old for unlawful possession
of a shopping cart in the 200 block at 5:10 a.m. The cart was
returned to Ralphs.
* Loretta Drive: A resident said a car was parked at the end of
his street that “just doesn’t look right” in the 600 block at 1:19
a.m.
SATURDAY
* Beverly Street and North Coast Highway: A bicyclist reported
that a man driving a car with a brown dog in the back seat threw a
cup of coffee on him at 8:30 a.m.
* Beach Street: A store owner in the 200 block took pictures of a
man she caught trying to steal a jacket three days earlier, which
caused him to run out of the store at 5:19 p.m. She described the man
as being 45 to 55 years old with a smooth flawless face that appeared
as if he’d just had a face-lift.
NOV. 14
* Buena Ventura: Police arrested a 49-year-old San Clemente
resident on suspicion of possessing stimulants with intent to sell in
the 100 block at 3:09 p.m.
