Darwin Bruce Pierce
Darwin Bruce Pierce, 77, died from cancer on Aug. 25 at his home
in Murrieta.
Mr. Pierce was born Feb. 27, 1926 in Santa Ana and lived in Laguna
Beach for 26 years. He was a 1943 graduate of Laguna Beach High
School, a member of the Rotary in Laguna Beach and became the
director of the Boys Club in 1956. He invested his time there
improving the appearance of the club, gaining city support and
working with the boys.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lora Pierce; his father,
Dorrell Pierce; and his brother, Richard Orlo Pierce. He is survived
by his wife, June Pierce of Wildomar; his daughter, Betsy Acosta and
son-in- law, Phillip Acosta of Wildomar; his sister, Dorline Pierce
of Laguna Beach; and four grandchildren.
No services are planned. Mr. Pierce’s ashes will be scattered at
sea. Inland Memorial Mortuary in Hemet is handling the arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of
Laguna Beach.
