Adams Avenue and Huntington Street: A suspicious circumstance was
reported when two men with tattoos were seen drinking beer and
pointing a red laser beam at cars driving by at 8:26 p.m. Friday.
Alabama Street: Identity theft was reported in the 900 block at
10:01 a.m. Sunday.
Alsuna Lane: Fireworks were reportedly set off by residents in the
back yard of a home in the 1800 block at 6:11 p.m. Saturday.
Ash Street: A man reported that his garage had been vandalized
with graffiti in the 17000 block at 6:29 a.m. Friday.
Beach Boulevard: A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had broken
into her apartment in the morning and was holding her hostage in the
20300 block at 3:59 p.m. Saturday.
Beach Boulevard: A man reported that after he took his car to a
car wash, he found scratches in the paint, but the manager denied
responsibility in the 18400 block at 2:26 p.m. Saturday.
Beach Boulevard: Forgery was reported when someone used false
identification to forge a name on fictitious checks to gain access to
a checking account in the 19000 block at 6:21 p.m. Friday.
Brabham Drive: A vehicle theft was reported in the 9100 block at
1:36 a.m. Sunday.
California Street: Annoying phone calls were reported in the 1200
block at 4:34 p.m. Friday.
Chapparal Lane: Suspicious noises coming from a neighbor’s home
were reported while the residents were on vacation. A neighbor heard
someone breaking in and objects being moved around in the 17400 block
at 2:54 a.m. Sunday.
Cheryl Drive: An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 5100 block
at 5:26 p.m. Friday.
Dundalk Lane: Identity theft was reported by a man who discovered
someone in Northern California was writing false checks in his name
to Costco in the 15800 block at 12:15 p.m. Friday.
Edinger Avenue: A loud television disturbing neighbors day and
night was reported in the 6200 block at 6:36 p.m. Friday.
Gothard Street and Warner Avenue: A suspicious man was reported
talking to himself and hitting signs with a hammer as he walked by at
6:48 p.m. Friday.
Halifax Lane: Assault with a deadly weapon was reported when
neighbors said their vehicle had been shot at and that a woman was
bleeding after being shot in the leg in the 6500 block at 9:47 p.m.
Saturday.
Harborbreeze Drive: Six juveniles were reported smoking from a
glass pipe in the middle of the park. They rode away on skateboards,
and one juvenile was seen counting money in the 21800 block at 4:01
p.m. Friday.
Pacific Coast Highway: Grand theft was reported when tools were
taken from a job site in the 2200 block at 4:22 p.m. Friday.
Pacific Coast Highway and Goldenwest Street: Reckless driving was
reported when a driver drove up the embankment to pass another
vehicle at 11:54 a.m. Friday.
Ramona Lane: Grand theft was reported when two diamond rings, a
diamond bracelet and diamond earrings were removed from a home in the
20200 block at 6:36 p.m. Sunday.
Sabre Lane: A man reported that when he woke up in the morning,
his vehicle had been stolen in the 14900 block at 8:52 a.m. Sunday.
Yorktown Avenue: Vandalism was reported when a man took his car to
a shop for repairs and noticed dents along the inside panels of both
doors after he received his car back in the 700 block at 1:08 p.m.
Friday.
Warner Avenue: A woman reported that her friend’s ex-boyfriend had
just taken her friend’s dog. The ex-boyfriend had killed the friend’s
first dog and given her the second dog as a replacement in the 6200
block at 12:24 p.m. Sunday.
Warner Avenue: A suspicious man was reported breaking into a
dumpster, prying it open, removing something and then riding away on
a bicycle in the 5200 block at 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Warner Avenue and Edwards Street: Indecent exposure was reported
when five or six men took off their pants, exposing their private
parts to passing cars at 4:24 a.m. Sunday.
5th Street and Walnut Avenue: Grand theft was reported when a
surfboard was stolen at 11:49 a.m. Sunday.
13th Street: Vandalism was reported when a flagpole was bent and
the flag was torn in the 600 block at 5:52 p.m. Saturday.
19th Street: Petty theft was reported when an umbrella was stolen
from the front yard of a house in the 200 block at 10:17 a.m. Sunday.
