* BASKETBALL: Open gym basketball is available at the Downtown
Recreation Center and gives adults (18 and older) of all skill levels
the opportunity to participate in a non-competitive environment.
The cost is $2 per person each session, or 10 sessions for $15.
Hours are Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday from 2 p.m.-5
p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
* SWIMMING: It’s never too late to learn how to swim, so for all
you adults out there who want to give it a shot, the Downtown
Aquatics Center has just the deal for you.
The second summer session of swim classes will be held July 7-18.
Classes are held every half-hour between 8:30-11:30 a.m. and
3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Downtown Aquatics Center and from 9:30 a.m. to
Noon and 3:30-5:00 p.m. at the Costa Mesa High School pool. The cost
is $30 for each two-week session, Monday through Friday.
For those who know how to swim, adult lap sessions are available
throughout the day at $3 per session. Times are 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.
and 6-7:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday and
Sunday.
Senior aquatics sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
7:00-8:00 a.m. and also cost $3.
Ten-session passes are available for $18 or 20 sessions for $36.

* VOLLEYBALL: The Downtown Recreation Center offers adult open gym
nights on Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 3-6 p.m.
Cost is $2 per person each session, or 10 sessions for $15.
* GOLF: Another session of golf classes is scheduled to begin on
August 12. The four-week class at Costa Mesa Country Club costs $75
and includes a bucket of range balls per class. There is a maximum of
eight students per session and a minimum of four.
