Angels outlast Rockies, 21-16, in Bantam final

The Angels defeated the Rockies, 21-16, on the final day of play in

the Bantam Division of Laguna Beach Little League.

The game, the longest of the season for both teams, was called

after five innings due to time limitation.

A potent Angels’ attack saw John Paul Wollam hit a two-RBI triple

and a two-run RBI double, RBI singles by Chad Micheil, Jenna Knott,

Brian Micheil, Lucas Capabianco and Wollam, doubles by Sean Burkit,

Ryan Moss and Brian Micheil and fifth inning doubles by Capabianco

and Chad Micheil.

For the Rockies, Spencer Donovan and Ben Ellis had a two-RBI

single, Michael Sofferman and Cody Latendresse each had an RBI

single, Jeffrey Rosenthal and Zachary Jacobs each had an RBI double

and Zachary Kluver had an RBI single.

Rockies 12, Brewers 11

The Rockies parlayed a seven-run rally in the fourth inning into a

one-run victory in semifinal round action.

Spencer Donovan, Kevin Sasaki, Zach Jacobs and Zach Kluver all

tripled during the inning while Cody Latendresse doubled and Ben

Ellis singled as the Rockies went from an 8-5 deficit into a 12-8

lead.

The Brewers rallied for three runs in their final at-bat as

Jonathan Church and Eamon Graffney hit consecutive doubles before

Samuel Wogulis hit a three-run home run.

The Brewers led early as Church hit a homerun to highlight an

eight-run first inning.

The Rockies countered with Ryan Ward’s two-run home run in the

bottom of the first.

Donovan also homered and Jeffrey Rosenthal had an RBI double for

the Rockies.
