The Friends of Laguna Beach Community Clinic, a support group formed
to assist with fund-raising for the Community Clinic, held their
first event (a free membership party), at Madison Square and Garden
Cafe on Sunday. Membership applications to the Friends of Laguna
Beach Community Clinic were accepted in the garden setting of Madison
Square.
Clinic Board of Directors President, Dr. Lee Winocur Field, read a
statement of support from Mayor Toni Iseman, and a patient of the
Clinic, Kristen Brown, Ph.D. told the group of about 75 her personal
story about how she owes her life to the Clinic.
Guests at the event enjoyed wines, hors d’oeuvres and desserts
donated by Jon Madison, owner of Madison Square and Garden Cafe, and
listened to guitar music provided by George Lawton who volunteered
his time and talent for the event
The Friends of the Clinic’s membership now includes five life
members, 11 supporting members and 11 active members, with more
applications still being accepted.
There are four levels of “Friends” memberships available:
* An Active membership (serves on committees and attends meetings)
is $50. annually.
* A Supporting membership (no meetings or committees requirement)
is $150. annually.
* A Lifetime membership is $1000. and can be either active or
supporting.
* A Variable membership is designed for those who would have a
financial hardship with other membership levels.
Memberships are still available in all four levels. For

The first event that the Friends of the Clinic will participate in
will be the Clinic’s gala dinner-dance, “Legends and Icons,” at the
Montage Resort and Spa on Sept. 14.
Committee meetings for the event will occur during the summer, and
the group will begin its regular meetings in the late summer.
Spring Dine-Around
The Laguna Beach Community Clinic concludes its Spring Dine-Around
program on Monday, June 16 at French 75.

donate a percentage of their proceeds on selected nights directly to
Laguna Beach Community Clinic.
Clinic supporters are encouraged to call French 75 directly at

beverages and dinner (all at French 75’s usual prices) from a menu of
French 75’s favorites. French 75 is a 1940s Parisian-style bistro and
Champagne bar, at 1464 S. Coast Highway, across from the Surf and
Sand hotel.
