Dodgers earn tie for first in Minor A division

A trio of Dodger pitchers shared the mound and led their team to a
10-2 victory over the Pirates in a Minor A Division game at Ocean
View Little League.
Bryan Perez, Evan Archer and Mark Johnson all took a turn on the
mound and combined to strike out 11 and walk just one.
Quinn Herndon and Montana Merhoff both doubled as the Dodgers
moved into a tie for first place with a 3-1 record.
In other Minor A action:
Yankees 5, Giants 3
The Giants had their winning streak halted at three games by the
Yankees.
Mitchell Grant and Kevin Stoops led the Giants on offense, each
with a three for three performance.
In addition, Grant scored three runs and Stoops had three RBI,
while teammate Lars Jensen singled and doubled.
Jensen and Austin Barlow each pitched three innings for the Giants
and limited the Yankees to four hits.
The Giants, in slipping to 3-1 and into a first-place tie with the
Dodgers, lost despite getting 10 hits.
Huntington Valley Little League
Dodgers 7, Padres 3
Riley Trotter doubled twice and collected three RBI, Ryan Dobis
singled twice with two RBI and Matthew Strickler doubled with one RBI
to lead the Dodgers.
Taylor Nelson and Matthew Steinhaus combined on the mound to beat
the Padres.
Center fielder Anthony Gruppie led the Padres on defense with two
diving catches.
In Minor B Division play:
Ocean View Little League
White Sox 11, Padres 8
Trailing 7-3 heading into their final at-bat, the White Sox came
up with eight runs to stun the Padres.
Triples by Thomas Harer and Matt Kelly ignited the rally that was
further fueled by singles from Joe Varney, Dakoda Muta, Conrad
Massam, Ryan Smith and Brett Berns.
Closer Alec Villalobos recorded two strikeouts in the bottom of
the sixth to secure the White Sox’s comeback victory.
