Harry Potter fans will want to know that his fourth book is debuting the
weekend of July 8-9 at Zany Brainy. The store is having a Harry Potter
weekend at 2 p.m. each day and there will be a magical game and

The eighth annual Summer Solstice: A Festival of Fine Food & Wine is
being held today from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the Crate & Barrel wing of South
Coast Plaza. It will be a night of great food and fun, with proceeds
going toward the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County and Someone
Cares Soup Kitchen of Costa Mesa.
The best of South Coast Plaza’s restaurants will be offering samplings of
their favorite menu items, including The Clubhouse, Antonello Ristorante,
Bangkok Four, Gustaf Anders, Troquet and Cafe Pascal. There will be
something for everyone at the event, with 30 restaurants and more than 50
vineyards -- including Robert Mondavi Wines, Cannon Wines, The Charles
Krug Winery, Ironstone Vineyards and Daniel Lawrence Cellars -- from
around the world.
The Summer Solstice event was created as a way for the community to help
Orange County’s hunger problem through its support of two organizations.
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County is a private nonprofit food
bank that collects and distributes surplus food to those in need through
a network of more than 300 local charities. Someone Cares Soup Kitchen
feeds more than 250 men, women and children daily, five days a week, 52
weeks a year.
Tickets are $50 at the door and include unlimited food and beverages,
live music and dancing.
