Swimming: Dolphins swim to victory

NEWPORT BEACH - The Harbor View swim team had a solid team effort

to defeat Lake Forest, 903-412, in Saturday’s South Coast Swim Conference

action.

Harbor View’s girls team won, 478-190, while on the boys side, the

Dolphins won, 425-222.

Leading the Dolphins was Vivian Liao, the meet’s only triple winner. She

was victorious in the 50-yard freestyle (26.75), 50 butterfly (30.69) and

50 backstroke (32.19) in the girls ages 13-14 division.In girls ages 7-8

division, Kelli Feeley won both the 50 freestyle (36.44) and 25 butterfly

(18.84), before teaming up with Blake Gardner, Kelsey Larso and Jenny

Martin to win the 100 medley relay (1:21.75).

Katelyn Surak won the girls ages 9-10 division 25 butterfly (17.73) and

50 free (36.28), before taking second in the 100 individual medley

(1:36.63).

Another 9-10 double winner was Cicily Lewis, taking the 50 backstroke

(45.81) as well as the 100 individual medley (1:36.82).

In the 11-12 division, Ashley Chandler won the 100 IM (1:14.78) and 50

free (28.72).

On the boys side, David Guibord (ages 7-8) was a double winner in the 50

free (36.03) and 25 free (15.60).

Jason Palda (ages 15-18) took the top spot in the 50 butterfly (27.12) as

well as the 50 backstroke (29.34), while Alexander Niehenke took the 50

free (24.53).

The duo then teamed up with Zackary Balden and John Money to win the 200

free relay (1:39.63.).
