Mets, Angels go to wire for title

The Mets and Angels will go the distance in their best-of-three
series in order to determine the 2000 Minor B Division winner at Fountain
Valley Little League.
Angels 6, Mets 3
In game No. 1, the Angels scored in each of the first three innings to
forge a 4-0 lead, although the Mets fought back to close the gap to 4-3
in the fourth inning.
But by scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, the Angels
wrapped up the win.
Magic Lucio singled, doubled, and had two RBIs, Loren Robb singled and
scored twice, and Luis Pedroza, Tyler James, and Shawn Watkins each
singled.
Lucio also picked up the pitching win by tossing three shutout innings.
A.J. Cardenalli had a pair of RBIs, Dillon Auxier hit an RBI single and
Neil Mira and Jacob Gomez each had a hit for the Mets.
Mets 8, Angels 7
In the second game, the Mets scored three runs in each of the fourth and
fifth innings to erase a 6-2 Angels’ lead and force a third and decisive
game.
Ben Paparella hit a two-run single and also doubled, while Chris Hale and
Neil Mira each had RBI singles to lead the Mets.
Dillon Auxier, Kyle Ball, and Peter Fontes also added base hits for the
Mets.
Ball game up just one run in three innings to secure the pitching win.
For the Halos, Andy Palacios doubled twice, Loren Robb hit two singles
and Magic Lucio added an RBI single.
