Swimming classes available at OCC

For residents of a coastal community like Newport-Mesa, knowing how to
swim is as important as learning how to drive. Ongoing two-week sessions
of OCC’s 2000 Summer Swim program can teach students the right strokes
for the ocean, lakes and pools.
Four sessions are offered, from Monday to June 30; July 3-14; July 17-28;
and July 31 to Aug. 11. The class meets Monday through Friday and the
cost is $45 for each 40-minute session.
Classes accommodate all levels, from toddlers to competitive swimmers.
There will be a new “Parent and Me” class for adults and children under
3.
All classes are approved by the American Red Cross.
Registration is underway in OCC’s community education office, next to the
library. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through
Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
Participants may phone in registration by calling (714) 432-5880.
