The Pirates appeared to be on their way to an easy victory as they
built a 6-0 lead halfway through Saturday’s Minor A Division game with
the Rockies.
But over the course of the final three innings, the Rockies woke up,
then went on to outscore their rival, 10-1, to complete a 10-7 comeback
victory at Seaview Little League.
The Rockies began their rally with a five run fourth inning,
highlighted by key hits from Austin Rovazzini, Matt Fockler, and Anthony
Lee. And, once they took their first lead, Rockies relief pitcher Kyle
Boswell turned away one final threat by the Pirates as he struck out
three batters with the bases loaded to end the game.
The Pirates had staked their way to the 6-0 lead behind the hitting of
Chris Czerniachowski, Shawn McEachin, and Bryan Kobylka.
