INSIDE SCOOP

-- Compiled by Angelique Flores, Jennifer K Mahal and Torus Tammer

Evan Jacobs, a Fountain Valley filmmaker, recently screened his film

“Schusterman Levine: A Boxing Fable,” in which he plays the starring role

of a boxer.

Jacobs’ mom and his uncle were on hand during parts of the filming. One

scene, in which the tall, thin Jacobs is in the ring with a trained

boxer, distressed his mother. Scared, she asked him, “He knows not to hit

you, right?”

The actor-director assured her he was safe.

“But my uncle told [the boxer] he’d give him a $100 if he knocked me

out,” Jacobs said.

CAR OR CAT BOX?

During the latest Huntington Beach Mayor’s Breakfast, Orange County

Health Care Agency Director Michael Schumacher spoke about what the

agency does for the county -- including running the animal shelter.

Winding up his speech, Schumacher made the audience an offer.

“As with all presentations, I offer everyone here a free cat,” he said.

“I think I have enough out in the car for all of you.”

SAY WHAT?

In a questionnaire, Fountain Valley Councilman John Collins was asked to

reveal the words that he most overuses. His tongue in cheek response?

“Some will claim that all words I speak are overused.”
