NEWPORT BEACH -- Residents can learn about owning legal and illegal pets
on Wednesday at Speak Up Newport’s monthly meeting.
Although zebras and other wild animals are not commonly found in the
community, authorities in April found three pet alligators in a Jacuzzi
at a Newport Beach home.
Newport Beach Animal Control Officer Jayme Rogers and Cheryl Renders, the
director of the Wonders of Wildlife organization, will give the
presentation on animal adoption.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Riverboat
Restaurant, 151 E. Pacific Highway, Newport Beach.
The lecture will include information about spaying and neutering and
which animals are allowed in the city.
